What type of mouse should I have to fit my hand - a shell (standard) mouse or a different type of mouse (rollerball, touch pad, etc.)

A vast majority of mice in use are the traditional shell mouse. The user moves the hand to move the mouse to control the curser. Proper mouse position is important.

However other styles of pointing devices (after all that is what a mouse is - a device to point or move the curser) are available.

The rollerball or trackball mouse is used. In this case the hand stays in one position on the shell of the device and the ball is moved either by the fingers and/or the thumb.

Other types are also available although not in routine use - touch pads, pens, joysticks, etc.) Check out Pros and Cons for more information.

Mouse type

Check out the Pros and Cons of pointing devices.

If you are having problems with your mouse make sure you have looked at position, hand use, scroll wheel, button setup, etc.

If you decide to try a different type of mouse you will need to position it properly and give it at least 3 to 5 days of trial to see if it is beneficial for you.

Try a different type of mouse. Go to Products.
