My feet don't touch the floor when I sit at my desk.

It is never acceptable to have your feet dangling when seated.

Typically it is the result of a mismatch between your stature and your worksurface height - you raise the chair up to get your hands high enough to reach the worksurface and end up lacking foot support.

Circulation is reduced into your lower extremities. Without good foot support you also don't have good support for your back.

Your goal is to provide good support for your feet while making sure your have hands at the correct height in relationship to your worksurface. (Go to LINK. for additional information.) How you accomplish this correct relationship depends on one critical point - Can you adjust the height of your work surface? Here is how to tell.

Step One - Determine the type of height adjustable worksurface you have:

Wall Panel Mounted

Worksurface is mounted on the wall panels and can be hung at different heights.

Free Standing Adjustable

Worksurface height is mounted on height adjustable legs.

Adjustable Keyboard Tray

Keyboard tray, mounted to the underneath of the worksurface can be height adjusted.

Step Two - Adjust Chair

Adjust the Chair Seatpan Height to place your feet firmly on the floor and

Step Three - Adjust Worksurface Height

THEN adjust the worksurface height to place your hands at the correct height:

• Wall Panel Mounted - contact supervisor for assistance

• Free Standing Adjustable - contact supervisor for assistance

Fixed Height  Keyboard Tray

Keyboard is on slide-out tray that can not be height adjusted.

Step Two - Adjust Seatpan Height

Adjust your seatpan height to place your hands at the correct height to use the keyboard/mouse. (Go to LINK for additional information.)

 NOTE: If your feet no longer touch the floor you will need to obtain a footrest.
