Tips

Corrective Action

I experience sensitivity to lights/glare in the office.

Some individuals are more sensitive to light intensities than others.

Reduction in overall light light levels may be helpful.

Too Much

Symptoms:

  • Subjective reports of eye strain

  • Shielding your eyes with your hand (like a brim a baseball cap) provides relief

Too much light

  • Overhead lights - Turn out overhead lights to reduce overall light levels. Talk with your neighbors to get a general consensus regarding light levels.  Contact your supervisor for assistance.

  •  Undercabinet lights - Turn off undercabinet lights.

  • Task lights - Turn off or redirect desktop task lights.

Eye Exams

Have a general eye exam as part of your regular physical examination to protect the general health and well being of your vision.

If you have any vision issues specific eye examinations at two year intervals are recommended.

If you notice a change in your vision have your eyes checked.

Reduce light:

  • Turn out overhead lights - contact your supervisor for assistance.

  • Turn off undercabinet lights

  • Turn off or redirect task lights

Eye Examination

  • Eye examinations as indicated
